The Island of Doctor Moreau
A man goes overboard and wakes on an island that smells of the lab. The animals here have names. They also have rules. In the compound: a doctor who will not stop at skin, a drunk who knows too much, and a house of pain you can hear from the beach. Prendick wanted rescue. What he gets is a lesson in what a man will do if nobody is watching and the scalpel is sharp. Do not look for a monster in a hood. Look at the one who holds the knife.
