Not a novel. A magazine for the children of America, and it only lasted four numbers. Martí talks to them as if they can take Bolívar, Homer, Indian ruins, and a Paris exhibition in the same sitting. Fairy tales. Poems. A black doll. A shrimp that is enchanted. Heroes who actually existed. He does not sand the continent down for the nursery. Four issues, then it stopped.
